Mission

Lions Heart Fellowship reduces recidivism and changes cultures by promoting peer-led programing through the generosity of donors.

Vision

Our vision is to fully meet the needs for peer-led programming and create a culture within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where men of character, integrity, and values will return to society as productive citizens. We will affect criminal justice reforms that focus on rehabilitating men as the first priority.

Lions Heart Fellowship seeks to reduce recidivism and promote Criminal Justice reform by supporting these peer to peer model of corrections within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. We will accomplish this by seeking material and financial support that is channeled directly to supporting peer-led classes, programs, and events within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Current Projects We Are Supporting

With secured donations to support Peer Educators, Life Coaches, and Field Ministers operating on the Robertson unit with Administration guidance. These model residents are able to lead the classes listed below. With your support we are able to provide materials and financial support to the men leading the change, using their personal experiences to influence and develop relationships with their peers, these model residents strive to develop their peers character, transform their values, all while promoting positive behavior, and helping them return to society as positive contributors.

These project support our primary purpose is to promote criminal justice reform with an emphasis on restorative justice there by reducing recidivism.

  • Living Perspective - From the beginning, 'Living Perspectives' class focused on personal development. As founder of the Living Perspectives, my vision is to provide the tools needed to those who need them, to help others recognize and realize (make real) an individual's self worth. So many people here in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, have either lost, or never found, the self worth that is crucial to success and well being. The Living Perspectives facilitation team has made it our goal to help others find and cultivate this worth.

Facilitators: William Jones, Daniel Bean, Michael Ellis, Christian Conner, Frank Spencer, and Buck Settle. (See picture of facilitators).

  • Noble Travelers - is a personal development class. Our mission and goal is to raise the spiritual and emotional condition of the individual. To help instill a practical application of life lessons from a holistic perspective. Visualizing life as a journey to attain a higher moral and spiritual foundation. The facilitator is Anthony Jackson. Once we have all the synopsis' we can obtain photos of the facilitators to show who teaches what. Put Batman and myself down for CPTSD class. For Living Perspectives you can put the whole facilitation team. For Toastmasters I think we have a photo of the leaders together. If not we can use the Toastmasters picture on the Robertson Facebook page.

  • Toastmasters gavel club - Our Future Leaders of America Gavel Club utilizes curriculum under Toastmasters International banner. This club teaches men valuable communication and leadership skills. Through the dedication and determination of each person that is a part of this club we build important skills which give men an opportunity to grow and become more than they ever dreamed. A brotherhood of men that can effectively communicate, whether it is to simply get their point across or meet the needs of those they serve and lead. We strive to be successful and nurture fulfillment in those around us.

Leadership: Mike Ellis (president), William Jones (Vice President of Education), Christian Conner (Vice President of Membership), Daniel Bean (Vice President of Public Relations), Mike Lopez (Sgt. of Arms), and Anthony Jackson (Secretary).

  • CPTSD - Every cause has an effect! Substance abuse, violence, depression, and personality disorders are all an effect, but trauma is the cause. Too many people try addressing the effects of ACE's (Adverse Childhood Experiences) but no one is addressing the cause. CPTSD (COMPLEX POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER) Support Group is where we learn to identify, label, express, and heal from the damaging effects of trauma on our lives so we can become more emotionally intelligent men and move from pain to empowerment. Come join us and watch these men journey, and with your help you can make a difference in the lives of men who were lost and can now be found!
